Reporting to the Senior Planner, this position is accountable for planning within the facility including preventative maintenance and shutdown planning.  The successful candidate will work within a team of planners with each having their own area of responsibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high standards of employee safety and foster a proactive safety culture.
  • Develop and maintain detailed maintenance work plans to support the safe and efficient execution of maintenance activities.
  • Create labour, material, tooling and equipment requirements for planned maintenance work.
  • Ensure maintenance planning activities comply with safety regulations, company policies and industry standards.
  • Review and maintain bill of materials for assets within your assigned functional area.
  • Review maintenance backlog and prioritize work based on safety, reliability and operational needs.
  • Support daily maintenance activities, shutdowns and major maintenance projects through detailed planning and coordination to minimize downtime.

Your Profile:

  • Mechanical engineering diploma or degree or red seal certification.
  • At least two (2) years of planning experience in a heavy manufacturing industry.
  • Previous experience working with a CMMS. Experience with D365 would be an asset.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems including rotating equipment, power transmission, hydraulics, piping, conveyors and material handling systems.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate with multiple departments.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics and technical documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to support team development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills including the ability to use MS Office and Project.
  • Candidates must be able to legally work within Canada at the time of applying for the position.

Compensation:

  • This is a salary position in the range of $80,000 to $90,000 depending on experience plus an annual bonus and relocation assistance.
