Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Manager ensures the HR strategy aligns with the business and strategic objectives. This is a hands-on role ensuring there is balance of workload within the HR team encompassing a wide range of functions and expectations including business partnerships and guidance, labor relations, HR policies and processes, collective agreement negotiations, legal compliance and interculture awareness.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the facility operates in full compliance with all health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations ensuring all employees are held accountable for our safety and environmental systems.
- Ensure company policies and values are implemented and maintained throughout the organization and all legal requirements are met.
- Work with the senior leadership team on budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation, reporting systems, cost containment and company policies all designed to foster growth, profitability, and efficiencies within the company.
- Collective bargaining along with grievance and discipline management.
- Conduct internal investigations to gather facts related to disputes, complaints and incidents.
- Acts as a trusted HR advisor to senior leadership across the organization.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or a related field of study.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience with an employer that has multiple bargaining units. Experience in a manufacturing facility would be an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in labour relations and employment law in a unionized environment.
- Excellent communicator, insightful, self-aware, and able to listen to employees and integrate feedback into the operations. Strong belief in continuous improvement and the ability to understand market trends and drive business decisions.
- Strong analytical skills with an aptitude for translating quantitative and qualitative data into actionable plans. A strong Financial Acumen is required.
- Excellent organizational skills including planning, prioritizing, and delegating.
- Strong computer skills including MS Office.
- Candidates must be able to legally work within Canada at the time of applying for the position.
Compensation:
- This is a salary position in the range of $125,000 to $150,000 depending upon experience plus an annual bonus and relocation assistance.
