Careers Instrument Mechanic
We are looking for a certified instrument mechanics to join our team. Candidates must have a red seal or provincial certificate and be able to legally work in Canada at the time of applying for the position. Candidates should have a strong knowledge of instrumentation gauges and monitoring systems and have excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to work safely independently or as part of a team. We offer both day and shift work opportunities along with relocation assistance to Thunder Bay.
Skills and Responsibilities:
- Perform periodic inspections of equipment and systems to observe operating conditions and determine if equipment is in need for repair or adjustment,
- Inspect and test machinery for proper functioning,
- Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to perform tasks,
- Troubleshoot problems and make necessary repairs,
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Previous experience working in an industrial facility would be an asset.
Compensation:
- Candidates with a red seal certificate less than three years start at $44.81/hour, candidates with a red seal certificate for more than three years start at $45.23/hour. There are also shift and Sunday pay premiums,
- There is an opportunity for employees to earn an additional $1.75/hour once an on-line course is completed. The course is paid for by the company,
